Is The Dosh App Legitimate? My Review With Payment Proof
I recently started using a pretty cool app called Dosh that pays you automatic cash back when you shop in-store, online, and even for booking hotels and vacations. Let me begin by saying, this is a cash back app, so you have to spend money to earn money back.
If you’re looking for ways to just earn money, check out these apps.
In this Dosh App Review, I’ll cover how to earn, the rewards available, show proof they pay and address a few complaints. You can earn up to a $3 sign-up bonus once you join and link a card!

Dosh App Review
App: Dosh
Type: Cash Back
Verdict: Legitimate
In this Dosh app review, I marked them legitimate, and I’ll show you proof that they pay later on in this review. I really like the new trend of apps automatically detecting your purchases and paying you a percentage of everything you buy at the store, instead of only paying for some items like Ibotta.
The only thing people might be concerned about is you do have to link a debit/credit card to earn. I’ve been using the app now for several months and have had no issues, but if you have concerns, I recommend skipping this app.
As long as you know that this is just an extra cash back app, you should be pretty happy! It’s an app I’ll continue to use and recommend.
How To Earn With Dosh
There’re a few ways to earn with Dosh. I’ve covered them all below!
In-Store Shopping
One way to earn on Dosh is through shopping in-store. Once you link a card, all you need to do is purchase at a participating retailer to earn cash back. Some participating stores include Sam’s Club, Denny’s, Forever 21, Jack in the Box, and several others.
Of course, in-store shopping is location based so depending on your location you might have limited options, but you can still take advantage of the other ways to earn!
Online Shopping
The Dosh app also pays you to shop online. All you need to do is make a purchase with your linked card at a participating store. Since it’s online, anyone can earn no matter your location.
Most of the online retailers pay 3%-6% cash back. Some of the online retailers include Walmart, CVS, Jet, and several others.
There’re too many retailers to list here, but you can see a full list at Dosh.Cash
Traveling
If you travel a lot, you can earn a ton of cash back booking hotels with the Dosh app. It’s very easy to select where you’re traveling, when, and what type of room you’re looking for. I’ve included a few screenshots of the process below.
Most of the hotels pay $10-$100 cash back a night. One surprising thing was almost all of the hotels near me are participating, not just a few hotels!
The first picture is an example of the search and the second picture is when you select a hotel. As you can see, you can earn quite a bit of cashback booking hotels through the Dosh app.
Refer Friends
Dosh does have a referral program that pays you $5 per referral once they join, link a card, and make their first cashback purchase.
There’s no limit to how many friends you can refer so get to sharing.
Refer Business
Most of us probably won’t take advantage of this way to earn, but you can refer businesses to Dosh. You’ll receive 20% of their marketing fees for two years.
If you want to refer a business, you’ll need to fill out a form in the app with the information and who to contact.
Dosh App Rewards
Dosh has a few reward options including PayPal, Direct Deposit, and Charity Donations all starting at $15. Once you request a payout, you should receive it within a few minutes. I’ve been paid via PayPal, and it comes from a 3rd party company almost instantly. You can see proof that they pay below!
Proof Dosh Pays!
The Dosh app uses an outside company to process their payouts, for this reason, the PayPal payment doesn’t say anything about coming from Dosh. So I’ve included a few screenshots of my account having $16, a request for $16 payout, and proof that I received the payout from the 3rd party payment company. Hope this is good enough!
Dosh App Complaints
Linking Your Debit/Credit Card
The Dosh app automatically detects purchase you make at participating retailers. This is great, because you don’t have to do anything once you join, but some people will be concerned. They say that no card information is stored in the app, and the purchase information is encrypted, but of course, there’s always a chance of issues.
My advice is if you have any concerns just skip this opportunity, it’s just extra income. But if you don’t have any issues I highly recommend taking advantage of this app!
Is The Dosh App A Scam?
The Dosh app is not a scam, I’ve been using it now for several months and have been paid by them a few times. I really like that all the cashback is automatic and you don’t have to take pictures of receipts. Some of you might have an issue linking a card, but if you’re comfortable with it, I highly recommend joining Dosh.
