Dosh App Review

dosh app review is it legitimateApp: Dosh

Type: Cash Back

Verdict: Legitimate

In this Dosh app review, I marked them legitimate, and I’ll show you proof that they pay later on in this review. I really like the new trend of apps automatically detecting your purchases and paying you a percentage of everything you buy at the store, instead of only paying for some items like Ibotta.

The only thing people might be concerned about is you do have to link a debit/credit card to earn. I’ve been using the app now for several months and have had no issues, but if you have concerns, I recommend skipping this app.

As long as you know that this is just an extra cash back app, you should be pretty happy! It’s an app I’ll continue to use and recommend.

How To Earn With Dosh

There’re a few ways to earn with Dosh. I’ve covered them all below!

In-Store Shopping

One way to earn on Dosh is through shopping in-store. Once you link a card, all you need to do is purchase at a participating retailer to earn cash back. Some participating stores include Sam’s Club, Denny’s, Forever 21, Jack in the Box, and several others.

Of course, in-store shopping is location based so depending on your location you might have limited options, but you can still take advantage of the other ways to earn!

Online Shopping

The Dosh app also pays you to shop online. All you need to do is make a purchase with your linked card at a participating store. Since it’s online, anyone can earn no matter your location.

Most of the online retailers pay 3%-6% cash back. Some of the online retailers include Walmart, CVS, Jet, and several others.

There’re too many retailers to list here, but you can see a full list at Dosh.Cash

Traveling

If you travel a lot, you can earn a ton of cash back booking hotels with the Dosh app. It’s very easy to select where you’re traveling, when, and what type of room you’re looking for. I’ve included a few screenshots of the process below.

Most of the hotels pay $10-$100 cash back a night. One surprising thing was almost all of the hotels near me are participating, not just a few hotels!

The first picture is an example of the search and the second picture is when you select a hotel. As you can see, you can earn quite a bit of cashback booking hotels through the Dosh app.

Refer Friends

Dosh does have a referral program that pays you $5 per referral once they join, link a card, and make their first cashback purchase.

There’s no limit to how many friends you can refer so get to sharing.

Refer Business

Most of us probably won’t take advantage of this way to earn, but you can refer businesses to Dosh. You’ll receive 20% of their marketing fees for two years.

If you want to refer a business, you’ll need to fill out a form in the app with the information and who to contact.

Dosh App Rewards

Dosh has a few reward options including PayPal, Direct Deposit, and Charity Donations all starting at $15. Once you request a payout, you should receive it within a few minutes. I’ve been paid via PayPal, and it comes from a 3rd party company almost instantly. You can see proof that they pay below!

Proof Dosh Pays!

The Dosh app uses an outside company to process their payouts, for this reason, the PayPal payment doesn’t say anything about coming from Dosh. So I’ve included a few screenshots of my account having $16, a request for $16 payout, and proof that I received the payout from the 3rd party payment company. Hope this is good enough!

Dosh App Complaints

Linking Your Debit/Credit Card

The Dosh app automatically detects purchase you make at participating retailers. This is great, because you don’t have to do anything once you join, but some people will be concerned. They say that no card information is stored in the app, and the purchase information is encrypted, but of course, there’s always a chance of issues.

My advice is if you have any concerns just skip this opportunity, it’s just extra income. But if you don’t have any issues I highly recommend taking advantage of this app!

Is The Dosh App A Scam?

The Dosh app is not a scam, I’ve been using it now for several months and have been paid by them a few times. I really like that all the cashback is automatic and you don’t have to take pictures of receipts. Some of you might have an issue linking a card, but if you’re comfortable with it, I highly recommend joining Dosh.

If you’d like to learn more or to join, visit Dosh.com to sign up for free. When you use my link, you’ll be eligible for a $3 sign-up bonus! $5 Sign-Up Bonus Until January 21st 2018

If you have any questions about the Dosh app, feel free to leave comments below. I actually use the app so I can answer most questions about how it works.

Hi Brokwebb

So how easy and safe is it to link your credit or debit card with Dosh app?

It sounds like a great way to get some cash back while you shop especially with the upcoming Christmas season.

Sounds a lot more direct to get paid than many other apps. Will look into this opportunity a bit more.

    Brok - November 22, 2017 Reply

    Hey SJ,

It’s an extremely easy process. One thing I forgot to mention is they only link Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, no Discover cards at this time.

It only takes a few minutes to link your card by typing it into the app. They say that none of the cards are stored on the apps servers and everything is encrypted. So far I haven’t had any issues at all.

This app has been really easy to use so far so hopefully everything continues to go well!

If you have any other questions please let me know!

I haven’t received my money yet from referrals, and the sign up bonus?

    Brok - December 20, 2017 Reply

    Jordyn,

Have you linked a debit/credit card yet? You’ll earn your sign-up bonus once you link a card. You’ll earn additional bonuses for linking more cards.

Referral bonuses happen after your referral links a card and earns their first cash back. Just because a referral joins does not mean you’ll earn unless they use the app and earn cash back.

    Hope this helps,

    Brok - December 27, 2017 Reply

There is a promotion going on until December 31st.

You’ll earn $15 per referral once they link a card. Your referral will receive a $5 sign-up bonus as well!

    No.

You can get paid via Direct Deposit, so as long as you have a bank account you can get paid.

    Hope this helps.

Hello. Someone sent me info about the referral peogram where you get $15. I thought it was over last month. Now, she said it’s over on the 21st. Is this legit?

    Brok - January 9, 2018 Reply

    Hey Dee.

It’s legit they extended the $15 referral bonus and $5 sign-up bonus until January 21st.

    Hope this helps,

I was just referred to sign up and I did, I was told the referral applies if they sign up and link a card. Would linking a card and receiving the bonus count as your referee using the app and getting cash back since they technically got cash back for linking one or multiple cards?

    Brok - January 9, 2018 Reply

    Hey Christina,

I believe I understand your question.

At this time the special $5 sign-up bonus is paid to you once you link a card. At this time if you refer someone and they link a card you’ll earn $15.

The terms of the normal referral program are they have to make a purchase, so during this promotional period. No purchase is necessary for you to earn the bonus.

With the normal referral program, they need to link a card and make a purchase. The sign-up bonus does not count.

    Hope this make sense.

Is there anyway for me to make money via social media posting with this app ? If so could you explain that for me

    Brok - January 10, 2018 Reply

    Robert,

To make money posting on social media you’d be taking advantage of the referral program. Just sign up and grab you referral link from the app. You can then post on social media about the app and include your link.

That is not the best way to get referrals but if you have an active following you can make money posting affiliate/referral links on social media.

    Hope this helps,

Hello someone referred me to. And when I went to sign up I hit skip when it ask for the debit or credit card so of course when I went back 2 install it there was no option to add my debit or credit card so now I don’t know what to do to sign up and get the referral bonus and stuff. Thanks for your time

    Brok - January 10, 2018 Reply

    Tyra,

Easy fix. Once inside the app click on 3 vertical dots in the top left corner. A sidebar will open and click on Credit & Debit Cards option. There you can see linked cards and link new cards.

    Hope this helps,

Is the money returned to the credit card used?

    Brok - January 11, 2018 Reply

    Thanks for reading Kathryn.

No, the cashback you earn is put into your account balance with Dosh. Once you earn $15 you can cash out via PayPal or Direct Deposit.

You’ll receive it don’t worry, but if for some reason you have issues please let me know.

You’ll also want to contact the support team. I’ve found their Facebook page is a great place to get a quick response.

App also pays me when I book hotels, shop, and dine out. Download the app and get $5 instantly when you complete the sign-up process. https://link.dosh.cash/YCLI/IICd6yo8kJ

If there is no information stored on their server, how do they know that I have spent money on my card. Do I have to tell it to “search” on the app or does everything take place automatically?

Is it also similar to Ibota, in that, if I buy a box of cereal, it sends me money for a coupon from Wal-Mart or how does this work?

    Brok - January 13, 2018 Reply

I don’t know the exact technical details on how it works, but it is all automatic. Once you link a card Dosh automatically sees that you made a qualifying transaction and pays you the cash back.

Ibotta is similar in the sense that it’s a cashback app, but Ibotta makes you scan receipts and only pays you to buy specific items.

    Hope this helps,

I’m trying to link my card do I have to have a balance in my account

    Brok - January 13, 2018 Reply

    Mazie,

As long as it’s a debit/credit card it should work fine.

If it’s a prepaid card I don’t think it will work.

Hi i was wondering how long it takes for my money to hit my bank i transferred it to my bank yesterday at 7am 120.00 an another 30.00 today an still nothing just wondering how long should it take

    Brok - January 16, 2018 Reply

    Sarah,

Normally 1-3 days, which is what it says in the FAQs. During this promotional period it might take a bit longer. Once Dosh releases the funds, it might take an additional day to show up in your bank account. With PayPal, once Dosh releases the funds it’s available immediately.

So I downloaded this app about a week ago, got a few referrals, went to cash out for a deposit of $20 and I still have not received it. Please help

    Brok - January 16, 2018 Reply

Due to the referral program increase. Payments have been delayed.

My last cash out, which was a few thousand dollars, took about 4 days to show up.

You will get paid but when you cash out during this promotional period, it might take longer.

    Kee,

Your referral link changes everytime you view it. How do you know your referral code is not working?

Sometimes there is a delay on getting a notification that a referral signed up.

has anyone received money back in hand? I’m seeing negative comments from some bloggers that they recommend it but now they changed to WARNING because they can’t get their money out

I know you were probably looking for a response from other readers, but I have been paid several times. You can see proof of one of my payment in the review. During this promotional period, it is taking longer to receive payment though. My last cash out was a couple thousand and took about 5 days to receive.

You’ll get paid but during this promotional period, it might take longer.

I transferred money earned from DOSH to my paypal on 1-22-2018. Yesterday I sent a ticket from the DOSH app asking for an update on why the funds ($20 US) are not there yet. Will the money just show up in Paypal Brok or do I get an email alert?

    Brok - February 12, 2018 Reply

The funds will show up in your PayPal account. I don’t think Dosh sends an email but PayPal usually sends you an email when you receive money.

If you don’t hear back on the support ticket, I’d contact them on Facebook, they seem to be very responsive there.

Have you used the app for any online purchases? I have used it twice over 90days ago for both transactions, used my link card for payment & still haven’t gotten my cash back.

I’ve yet to use the online cashback portion of the app so can’t provide info from experience.

I’d recommend contacting them on Facebook about the issue they seem to be more responsive there.

No. If it’s $105 you’ll get charged the full $105. Then the $32 will be available for cash out inside the Dosh App.
